online marriage counseling programs you can do from homeIf you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I’m not shy about talking about the hard times that come with marriage. But I’m also not shy in my belief that coupes can work through those hard times. I believe that most people WANT to have a happy marriage and they WANT to save their marriages even when they get tough…they just don’t know where to turn. So I’ve complied this list of Online Marriage Counseling programs to hopefully help other couples in need.

I say all this from personal experience. There was a time when I too didn’t know to sort out the convoluted mess mine and KP’s relationship had found ourselves in. At the time, we couldn’t afford to go to counseling, let alone afford childcare or time off work in order to attend the in-person sessions. We felt completely stuck.

One day, I stumbled upon a website called OurRelationship.com that at the time was offering free gift cards to couples to test out their online marriage counseling program. Able to be done in the privacy of our own homes, and at our own pace, I brought up the idea to KP and we went through the program together.

I’ll be honest. It was not an overnight magic cure. But, it did get us started in the right direction. It got us talking again. It helped us take steps to communicate without automatically devolving into an emotional, combative fight. And I consider that a huge win for the long run.

Since I first started this blog 3.5 years ago, I’ve been wanting to write a post like this and hopefully get the word out to other struggling couples (especially those who are both financially struggling AND don’t have childcare) about the online marriage counseling programs I’ve discovered. I hope this list can help other marriages too!

Since this is the program that KP and I went through, I’ll start with this one. KP and I did the program back when it was in their testing phase, and while thy still offer their program for FREE, they now only offer their program for couples who meet certain financial considerations.

If you are needing a online marriage counseling program, but don’t have the funds to pay for a program, I strongly suggest starting with OurRelationship.com to see if you qualify for their program.

Time Commitment: 8 hours. It’s recommended to spread this out over the course of a few weeks.
Cost: FREE, however currently only open to lower- and middle-income qualifying couples.

WeConcile.com

IWeConcile online marriage counseling. For when you need help for your relationship but can't do traditional in-person counseling. #marriage #marriagecounseling have been talking to the owners of WeConcile for awhile now. I actually first discovered WeConcile during a phone call with a representative of a DIY divorce website, and reached out to WeConcile immediately afterward. They’ve been perfecting their program for some time now, and I’m SUPER excited that they are finally ready to roll out their online relationship program.

I’m currently looking through the program and plan to write up a more thorough review in the next couple months. But in the meantime, I wanted to pass this program on for anyone who could use it.

Time Commitment: ~6 months, but it’s self-paced and you can go through the program slower or faster as it fits best for you & your spouse.
Cost: $60/mo with an upfront 6-month commitment. After the initial 6 months, you may continue on with the program for however long you & your spouse need and pay month-to-month.
Promo Code: Use THIS LINK and you’ll get $30 off your upfront program enrollment
Trial Period: BRAND NEW! (as of 4/13/18) – the creator of the program emailed me and now anyone who uses my link will get a 30-day FREE trial! I’m so glad they are now offering this! It’s hard to put money into something before trying it, and now you can try out WeConcile first to see if it’s a good fit for your marriage.

dating divas reclaim your marriage program

Reclaim Your Marriage from The Dating Divas

If you don’t know The Dating Divas website, they are a very well-known DIY printable date night website. Pretty much, they are the queens of Pinterest. Way back in the day – before I discovered date night subscription boxes – I used several of their free date night printables to plan date nights for KP and I. They have been in the online marriage encouragement space for a long time and recently created a ‘marriage counseling’ program for couples after so many of their readers indicated the need.

Note: While The Dating Divas is NOT faith-based, their materials are still probably a best fit for younger and more conservative couples who are accustomed to structured step-by-step teaching instruction (i.e. church and devotional guides). If you’re non-religious, facing very serious relationship issues, and/or and are looking for something more heavy hitting, another program might be a better fit for you. To get a feel for The Dating Divas courses, or if you’re not sure if this program is for you, I suggest checking out their free workbook “10 Days to Divorce-Proof Your Marriage“, which can be found HERE.

Time Commitment: 10 weeks
Cost: $47/wk, with a 10 week commitment (so $470 total)
Trial Period: A one-week trial period is offered.

I admit that I know very little about this program, having only just recently discovered it and I haven’t had a chance to connect with the owners for more info yet.

Time Commitment: none
Cost: $18/month
Trial Period: A three-day trial period is offered.

I hope to add more to this list as I find new online marriage counseling programs offered! If you know of any I don’t have listed, please leave a comment below and I’ll look into them! Thanks!

9 Comments on A List of Online Marriage Counseling Programs That Might Help Save Your Marriage

  1. So happy to see this list! Counseling definitely saved my marriage a couple of years ago, but we stopped because of schedule conflicts. I’ll be sharing these resources with other couples for sure!

  2. The separation rate among moderate Christians is higher than we would want or anticipate. Or on the other hand, maybe we could put it along these lines. We ought to go for marriage mentoring, pre-marriage mentoring, for any related issues. I am Dr. Robert Puff and I am a universally perceived clinical analyst, marriage counselor, coach, and host of the Happiness Podcast. I am working at Newport Beach as a marriage counselor

  3. When your relationship appears in jeopardy and you’re scared to death — and don’t know what to do, (especially when economic factors bar you from the easiest and obvious avenues) one can find themselves sifting through the probably- plagiarized, cookie-cutter mess of articles, blog posts, pointless surveys and promises of “miracle marriage curealls and seminars” for the “low price” of your savings account… but actually HELPFUL, well- thought, informative and HONEST information based on an unbiased & first-hand experience? Much needed, hard to come by. But this?! #nailedit !!!! As a writer I know what it takes just to compose a worthwhile piece, let alone following through to publishing. So my hat is off to you, my dear. Your hard work hasn’t fixed all my problems magically overnight, (some folks seem to think that’s a realistic expectation!) however, what it HAS done is condensed a lot of great information in a user-friendly, palatable way. Made GOOD, relevant information accessible, able to be referenced, shared, etc. AND reviewed in an unbiased, practical helpful way. More so than usual due to scary circumstances, I have a mountain of gratitude for your work. Just a blog post cause it’s your job? Maybe. Genuine effort to help others because you’ve been there, know the struggle and actually CARE? WAY more likely. Big fat x’s and o’s from a fellow-writer and thankful human. You rock.

    • Oh wow, thank you. I’m having a kind of bummy day so this nice note is really appreciated right now. 🙂 I try to be thorough and honest in everything I write about, and it often makes me feel awkward and alone. So thank you again. There’s so much that goes on in relationships; I really wish there was more honesty about it out there.

  4. Ronni,

As a veteran marriage therapist known by many as “The Divorce Buster,” TEDx speaker, author of 8 books, including Divorce Busting and The Sex-Starved Marriage, I want to tell you that your blog is RIGHT ON! Congratulations on having the strength and determination to fight for your marriage even when your husband was being difficult! The truth is, you CAN change other people but you must begin by changing your own actions first. Always! I encourage you to keep encouraging people to follow in your footsteps. Divorce is never easy, especially when kids are involved. Being miserable isn’t acceptable either. But, as you so aptly point out, there are many, many things people can do single-handedly to improve their relationships.

I do have a few resources for you and your readers. First, we have offered an excellent Divorce Busting telephone coaching program for many, many years. Typically, people who use our program are the one spouse who is determined to save the marriage when the other wants out. We help them find new and effective ways to get through to their reluctant spouses (by changing their own actions first). My coaches are highly skilled, deeply committed mental health professionals who are all in long-term marriages. They walk to the talk. Information about this program can be found on http://www.divorcebusting.com or by calling 303-444-7004

Also, my book, Divorce Remedy has saved thousands of marriages over the years. It can be purchased through Amazon.

And finally, when things seem very bleak, I have created an online program called The Last Resort Technique. It offers a step-by-step map for saving marriages that are truly on the brink of divorce. Here’s the link: https://divorcebustingtraining.mykajabi.com/store/Q5UUUmn4

Let me know if you have any questions. Keep up the great work! The world needs you!

  5. Hi Ronni,

Might I encourage you to check into http://www.CoupleWise.com? We launched in 2017 and have helped thousands of couples as we continue to grow.

Yes, I am the CEO & co-founder! I found your post and resonated with your story.

Send me an email and I’ll send you free access. It’s a different approach than many of the other products listed & I’d love your feedback –especially on our assessment, our Conflict Resolution course, interactive Know Each Other dating game, to name a few.
As a bonus to subscribers we give everyone access to our financial wellness saving platform where couples are saving $200 to $500 each month… and almost twice that amount if student loan debt is putting a crimp on your finances.

  6. It’s great you mentioned at the time, we couldn’t afford to go to counseling, let alone afford childcare or time off work to attend the in-person sessions. I have been married for twelve years, yet we encounter hardships much time. Recently was the worst. I will convince my wife that we will consult a church marriage help program to help us back on track.
